I'm curious too. I was just looking at hotel prices for Boston in September. It was a hell of a lot more than I thought it would be

ETA: Flight prices aren't bad right now...

I mean, I am going to cast my vote for Boston, but I live here.

DC is fantastic as well though. I always enjoy my trips there.

I will say that it won't be nearly as hot or humid in Boston in August.

DC area is great, but Boston would be really cool to check out.

Boston in August no question. DC likely to be incredibly hot and certainly humid.

I meant to mention to the OP yesterday: if you post your e-mail, I'd be happy to send you a Boston Guide that I wrote for another poster a while back and have passed out to others here before.

I would never elect to go to DC in summer if your plan is to do tourist stuff

Came to DC last September for a little over a week and it was hot and humid (93 or 95* with 85% humidity), was not a pleasant experience. I'm in the DC area now and it's been pretty nice the past week, but I'd still stick with Boston for August.

Boston. DC is hot and there are lots of tourists in August. Plenty of nice areas to stay in Boston and usually near a "T" station or stop. I prefer Brookline at Coolidge Corner and then travel around from there. There is a nice Marriott Courtyard at that location.
