The wife had an interesting point last night that I had not considered: the women are taking over positions of power in the GoT world.
1. Danaerys - Leads what appears to be the UNITED Dothraki hoard, first woman ever to do so.
2. Yara Greyjoy - With her recent alliance she seems set to rule the Iron Isles
3. Sansa Stark - With the death of almost all the Wildlings and a good chunk (or perhaps all) of the men in the North that followed Jon, the men LF brought *because she asked* are the brunt of the current Stark forces holding Winterfell. Also, with her husband Ramsay dead she technically is the ruler of the Bolton lands.
4. Olenna Tyrell - Mace is a bumbling fool who is a stone's throw from getting killed by a war between the Throne and the Faith. With her recent departure, the "Queen of Thorns" is set to lead the 2nd most powerful house in Westeros.
5. Ellaria Sand - After overthrowing House Martell by killing Doran and his son, Ellaria rules Dorne.
6. Cersei Lannister - Cersei has been a player since Robert died. While Tommen has severely reduced her power, having FrankenMountain at her beck and call still makes her a force to be reckoned with (and may well be the only thing that keeps the High Sparrow from having her killed or imprisoned again).
7. Margery Tyrell Lannister - While she's currently playing the quiet submissive to the High Sparrow's religious zealotry, we know she's playing a very long game. If she can use the power of the vaj to become Tommen's most trusted advisory, she could potentially rule Westeros behind the scenes.
Arya is a wildcard. She could come back to Westeros and do something unexpected like kill Tommen and throw everything into a roiling shitstorm or she could just hook back up with the Hound and go around eating chickens.
On the other hand, the only males whose stories aren't relying on a female to save them in some fashion are Littlefinger and the Hound.

House Mormont is also run by a little girl.
The Vale -- a nasty skank was replaced by a worthless little bitch who was breastfeeding until his Momma took a plunge from the Moon Door.

well it's written by a fat guy that probably hasn't been laid in awhile
of course he's gonna put the pussy on a pedestal and he's probably the submissive type
that said, I don't see anything wrong with the women in GoT taking more commanding roles. there's plenty of male commanding roles. also a womans touch can calm the chaos that men tend to create.

Brought this up to my wife. Tyrion is still a fairly strong male character, as are Jaime and Littlefinger, but there has been a dearth of worthwhile men in this show. Most are either bumbling idiots (Jon, Doran) or absolute sadists (Ramsay, Sam's father to an extent).
I actually got mad at the Battle of the Bastards. Jon was portrayed as foolhardy and hot headed. That's not Jon. I suppose he saw his brother die, but he's seen all sorts of shite. I don't know. Seemed ridiculous to have to have Sansa come riding in to save the day. Though it was satisfying.

This has been developing over the last couple seasons, just watch how much emphasis they put in female to female power conversations in the show. The only problem I have with this is it seems they are really pandering and being overly PC. This is the harshest of worlds and modeled after medieval thinking and customs.
I get there are real women in history that commanded forces and had immense power (Joan of Arc and Queen Elizabeth) but they were far far fewer than men. Having this many setups of female commanders is a little too much for a show/book that prides itself on how things really go down in real life (good people die, bad people win sometimes, etc).
I'm fine with it if it fits the situation but it seems they have purposely imasculated many male characters only to have women in charge as a result which wouldn't happen in a world this primitive and brutal.

The melt on here if GoT turns out to ultimately be a feminist message would be fantastic
God I love this site

Jesus fricking Christ. Does a tv show really make you guys question your own masculinity that much?

This is the result of all the men being killed, castrated or imprisoned.
All going according to Littlefinger's plan

This site is densely populated by the far religious right and their massive, perpetual victim complex. Everything is a PC liberal conspiracy by atheists, Jews and Muslims to destroy the American family and tear down middle to upper class white Christian males.
They see persecution and liberal conspiracy in EVERYTHING. It bleeds over onto every board.

Maybe the men should stop killing each other.

Next episode will reveal a Night Queen. She can do all the things that the Night King can except that she's smart, strong, and independent.

You left out the Red Woman. She obviously was the one who brought Jon back into the fold. I wonder what are the show's long term plans for her.
