Miles has a new contract.
Miles can be bought out for $1.5.
Michigan does not have a coach.
Miles will be coach LSU "next year".

Until Michigan gets a coach, I do not think this is over.

It is very quiet in Michigan
(Reminds me of Saban and Alabama last year.)

It is possible that......
Miles wins MNC.
Gets a big bonus.
Pays buyout.
Goes to Michigan.

IMO - It is not over until Michigan signs a coach.

Agreed. However, if someone forced me to bet my life on it, I'd say Miles stays at LSU at this point.

Everything points to that.

Miles has said he will be here. Unlike Saban, he has given his word AND WILL STICK BY IT. Geez,

From what I understand, the Miles family is very happy at LSU. He is now paid very well, is in charge of one of the hottest football programs in the nation in a place that has a favorable climate.

I like our chances, but won't be completely shocked if he leaves. If Michigan doesn't have a new coach by Jan 7, then I would start to worry.

After all that Miles has said, I think this puppy is put to bed for good this time at least. Knowing what kind of a man Miles is, and his word is his bond, and you can hang your "hat" on it so to speak, I don't think there is a snow ball's chance in hell that you will see Miles talking with Michigan after all this. It's not in his make up. The guy lives his life on Integrity, and going back on this would make the man miserable for the rest of his life IMO. It would bother him to no end, so I don't see him doing it because I think he knows he could never live with himself or his conscience afterwards.

Michigan is going to have to find a "Michigan man" that Carr approves of apparently. Try and get a coach that can do the job all the while satisfying the guy heading out the door. It's going to be a long proccess. I wouldn't get too worried.

Reading the responses, I am not the only one that does not think this is over.

Integrity – Miles can coach this team through the BCS MNC Game then leave for Michigan and not violate a thing he said. (Unless someone has a quote that he will be here next season or will not be the next coach at Michigan.)

That's right. He said he would be the coach at LSU next year, that includes the NC game. So you're right he did leave it open. :beatdeadhorse:
