Why use that year? LSU hit the NCAA record 188 HRs in 1997. We literally had at least 1 HR in every single game that year, including every game in the CWS.

any other super regional I would be pulling hard for the Chanticleers. In fact they would become my adopted team. Always enjoy seeing an unlikely team emerge and make it to Omaha.

Oh yea, I've watched a game or two in my time. Tell me, when was the last time CCU made it to Omaha? How about any team from the Big South Conference?
Yea, at this point and time they are one of the more unlikely of the remaining teams to make it to Nebraska.
Or do you think they're more likely to get there than Florida, Miami, LSU, Louisville, A&M or MSU?
Unlikely doesn't imply untalented.

2016: Gilley has been with the program 21 years and is an alumnus and his MO is to get guys that are not the "5 star" players so to speak but get the guys that feel slighted and have something to prove. Don't get me wrong, he has landed huge commits in the past, but they opted for the MLB - Steven Matz most recently and some kid named Joey Votto in years past are two of the more well known ones to spurn CCU for the MLB. On the other hand we convinced Jason Bilous to come this year.
I think the fact that the staff has been together for years - save for Coach Schnall leaving for a few years helps with continuity. Gilley is retiring after his contract is up (2020) and Schilling came back to be the Head Coach in waiting.
Some of us are wondering if he makes it to Omaha this year if he will ride off into the sunset.
I think our facilities help too - we have one of the best stadiums in the country and the hitting facility behind LCF is amazing as well.

You may have missed it or may have done it on purpose but I looked and Coastal Carolina is on the "favorite team" list for user profiles.
If you did it on purpose it's cool, just thought I'd let you know.

An outdoor hitting cage? Pathetic.

It's indoor but there are screens. With the heat here, you guys are well versed in that, closing it in and running AC is a waste of money.
Done and Done Ree. Thx.

You sure about that? Sounds homer to me maybe you should make the treck to the game. We have AC in our cages so we don't look like Bert's Batting Cages & Go Karts down the road.

Whats it like to worry about money in your athletic department?

I'll concede you have one of the best stadiums within bike riding distance of Myrtle beach.

Some quick visuals to reality check you a bit...
And then there's this...
Our cages...
And then there's yours...

You realize the pic you are using for our stadium is about 4 years and $8million ago right?
Posted on 6/10/16 at 10:02 am to bodoyle
You realize joking humor right?
You mean those arent really your batting cages I posted????
Since you want to throw around dollar figures...
$8 million was the down payment
