Yea, comedy actors aren't really fair in this discussion. We could list almost all of them

Meh. Most of these people earned their way to being in this category

Brad Pitt
Clooney
Post-Air Force One Harrison Ford
I can still think of Ford as his characters when I watch his older stuff, but everything after Air Force One is just Harrison Ford.

These are smaller role actors but the two that immediately come to mind for me is:
Tarantino and Stephen King

Will Smith and Cage are the 2 worst for me. All I see is them and I don't like either one of them. Cage is obviously good for the lulz though.

I see Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in everything.
Was watching the Martian the other day and was thinking, well shite he's Jason Bourne, why the frick can't he survive on Mars for 2 years?

I think this is an issue for any big name actor who has a unique look or personality. So guys like Deniro, Pacino, Walken, Statham. They've been in so many movies or they're so recognizable that I actually prefer actors I've never seen before.

Mel Gibson
if you watch braveheart thinking of the main character as Mel Gibson instead of William Wallace, I swear to god it's a different movie

Some others to add:
Aniston
Eisenberg
Franco
and the oddly similar and equally wretched Ellen Page and Janene Garafalo

No. This man is the epitome of range in a character.

Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg and Tom Hanks are three that come to mind.
They're basically all just playing themselves at this point.

Definitely Denzel. Has he ever not played a cocky strutting dickhead?
