Outside of Phish, WSP, Moe and Mule, I'm pretty admittedly naive to this genre. There seems to be a lot of talk on the Board about em, so who should I be listening to. The list I've parsed together include those listed below. Please add and comment on where to go or who to avoid. Very green to the new generation Thanks!

JRAD, Keller Williams, Tauk, Umphrey's Mcghee, Twiddle, Disco Biscuits, Snarky Puppy, The Werks, Aqueous, Railroad Earth (more grassy)

Apologize if already a list or ranking on the Board

The London Souls aren't really jammy more old school rock (they are a newer band though) but you would like them.

(also you have no idea what you have gotten yourself in to with the thread - prepare for the Jam Band Wars)

Start with the best song ever jammed

The Disco Biscuits are the only band on the market that improvises and peaks consistently. The soundboards don't lie.
Twiddle might get there but the drugs may run out before they make it.
Phish was a jam band in the 90's. Some good stuff there.
Govt Mule finally made WSP quit. WSP died with Mikey.
Snarky Puppy is not a jam band. They are an extremely well trained jazz outfit.

The rest of the bands are just festival fillers.

In addition to all the other outfits talked about here (and y'all always have to do a dick measuring contest for whatever reason), Leftover Salmon is solid as frick. Not touring anymore to my knowledge but they had an album out a few years ago.

John Butler can eat a dick for his moronic statements he made regarding New Orleans in the days after Katrina.
