SEC Tourny needs change

I would have top 8 teams only. Single elimination.
Day 1 - Gm1= 1 vs 5
Gm2= 2 vs 6
Gm3= 3 vs 7
Gm4= 4 vs 8.
Day 2 Gm1 vs Gm3 Gm2 vs Gm4
Day 3 Champ
No participation trophies, no watching the left fielder come in to pitch on Day 6
Day 1 - Gm1= 1 vs 5

Gm3= 3 vs 7
Gm4= 4 vs 8.
Day 2 Gm1 vs Gm3 Gm2 vs Gm4
Day 3 Champ

Before expansion, it was a true double elim format.
And then LSU finished 9th in the SEC, got left out of the tournament AND the NCAA tournament because, "Well, you weren't good enough to make your own conference tournament, so why should you be in the NCAA tournament?"

Softball does 12 team, straight single elimination, top 4 get byes. It's retarded but it's great for TV. The championship game between LSU and Auburn was the most watched softball game of the year up to that point.

This is fine but your seeding needs work. 1v8, 2v7 etc. stupid to win the conference and play the four seed

no, what they need is 10 teams, first day, the bottom 4 play single slim. winner of the 7 v. 10 plays the 2 seed. 8 v. 9 plays 1 seed. 3 plays 6, 4 v. 5. and that starts double elim, 8 team format from there.

LSU was 13-17 then (RPI 21). North Carolina is 13-17 this year. Will be interesting to see if they make it (RPI 18)

Retarded committee = current format. It's nothing going to change as long as the SEC has a chance to get in 9+ teams.

Keep twelve team format with first day byes as it is. Just make it all single elimination and end it a day earlier.

Nah it's fine. People are only bitching because it burned us the past two years but really the sec tournament doesn't matter.
