I'm hearing the rest of the football coaches on Baylor's staff (other than Art Briles) are expected to keep their jobs. @NBCDFW

On top of that, a ton of people I know from Texas suggest that Waco PD played a role in sweeping things under the rug Tallahassee PD style.
between this and the way the Waco PD has handled the Twin Peaks biker shootout it seems like the Feds need to come in and clean them the frick up.

well i don't know how much of this is on Briles, individually how many players have been convicted of anything? that one transfer and any more? now has teh university made mistakes in the current regulatory framework? certainly i'm curious to find out what Briles did in all of this
I think what probably did him in was allowing Ukwuachu to enroll and join the team with the pretty disturbing behavior he had at Boise State. Then when he raped a Baylor soccer player, trying as hard as possible to keep it quiet (until they couldn't when he went to trial).

Firing a coach after spring training for an off the field scandal means you're going to have a very rough year.
Trust me on this. Or ask Arkansas fans

As a player you should be angry, disgusted and feel betrayed because now every Baylor player will be considered a rapist.
I've already said I'm glad this happened. I was getting sick and tired of all this shite.
The crazy thing is that I've seen girls I went to school with posting on FB and Twitter how they stand with Briles and the football team. Honestly is pretty ridiculous and absurd just how tight knit the Baylor bubble is and how much of a blind eye has been turned.

I don't think he has the personality to recruit the kind of athletes we get at LSU. That's why I never thought Petrino would work here either. And that was pre-scandals.
How old is Briles? Wonder how long he'll have to lay low to let this pass? And who's gonna be their interim?

Unless Briles was pretty integral in working with the PD on such things, which wouldn't be shocking at all

its a 100% guarantee there are at least a couple of BOR members who knew what was happening but those dudes are going to skate now that they've chopped off a few heads.
I doubt a large number knew the full details, but if you are on the BOT, you had to generally know about these rumors swirling around well before 2015.
Something like sexual assault isn't something you ignore if you are on the BOT. You can lose all federal funding, essentially a death penalty for schools, if you get in trouble with Title IX which handles sexual assault type issues.

Someone up the page said that someone tweeted mentioning that the rest of the staff would keep their jobs. I'd assume someone who is already on staff.

but wasn't the player basically suspended while the criminal stuff was gong on?
i'm not defending Briles here, but the issues seem to be more on other parts of the machine
i haven't read that much about all the crap i'm truly ignorant

One source described the Pepper Hamilton report as "toxic." Baylor takes big step in firing Briles, but had to be done.

There's a pretty damning timeline that can bring you up to speed pretty quickly.

art + kendall is a really good recruiting tag team
briles comes off as one of those "good ole baw" types that players love. i think he'd do well at a big school
that's all assuming he'd leave the state of TX, which is unlikely

yup, good luck with your version of jls, baylor. recruiting will take a hit, you'll prob lose some current players- not a good time. however, you'll survive it and probably be happy that your powers that be made the right decision- eventually.

is there going to be a press conference, or just a released statement (at 11 am)?

Texas AD just checked Baylor off the list.
Up next: TCU.

Police Departments may cover up problems, but they still communicate that back to the AD. At most schools, the police department typically call the AD immediately any time a FB player is involved before booking.
It would be absurd to argue that Art Briles wasn't aware of the multiple alleged assaults that were covered up
