We could be ranked #3 in the country today!

With a commitment from Saadig Charles.

Way too early to start look at overall team rankings, although I do love the type of players we are getting.

Let's not print the shirts yet. But it is exciting

Come on, man...
I was taught a valuable lesson about recruiting after the whole 5 for 5 mess and Tim, Cam, and Shiro. Even if the egg is in the coop, don't count that sucker till it hatches. Just about all these "commitments" are hanging by a thread.
I don't get mad or happy till signing day.

We could be ranked last in the country too if everyone were to decommit ....

We will probably end up with a score around 290 and that's not going to be enough to get top 3 when its all said and done with. People should know by now that the recruiting services will do some shuffling around until bama is #1 so there's no point in getting our hopes up for that.
It really doesn't matter though, if we keep out 2 qb's committed and fill our positions of need like LB, S and DE I will be perfectly happy with wherever we are ranked at the end.

Sure it does. It just doesn't mean nearly as much as it will in February of 2017.

Although I agree with your post, I'm actually tired of seeing Cam Rob's name pop up with these others. He handled his recruitment very well and although LSU fans may have thought there was a chance he was going to flip, there really wasn't one. He chose Bama early and stayed committed.

We need high ceiling recruits that fit our system. If that gets us "ranked" highly in recruiting, great. If not, also fine, as long as our players and coaches produce results in the W and L columns.
I no longer buy the bama reshuffling crap. I know the media needs a hook for clicks and views, including recruiting media outlets. But the players Bama pulls in are top notch, especially in the trenches.

This isn't the way I remember it.

Fine, but there is some truth to it.

Didn't Tom Luginbill admit that there was truth to it since their fans have the highest percentage of subscriptions and them being ranked higher equals more subscriptions sold.

@Keeble, If so, I'll eat crow on that. My point being only the talent they get parallels whatever the final numbers are.
Anyway, regardless of ranking, I'm glad to see the interest of young men in playing for the Tigers. While I am definitely biased, I've always thought we have the best program in the SEC for a number of reasons--despite all the craziness at times--and I like to see that panning out with the recruits we need.

If you looked at the final release of rankings last year you would beleive it. Bama had Kendall jones, who is literally just a huge space eater and 247 ranked him in the top 150 to end the year while his composite was like 500. People asked why he was ranked so highly when he had no skills and the guy who does the rankings said "he will have 1 job at bama and he will do it perfectly". Meanwhile half of our recruits dropped in the rankings even after some dominated in AA games

REC, Bama and their friends in the media are like a Mafia or better yet an Illuminati in CFB. Imagine how much they invest in influencing opinion. Yet Alabama as a state will always lag behind Ga, FL, TN and NC despite new industries moving into their state (note manufacturing and not enough high tech, Health care and other high brow industries). Too many inferior, low caliber people in their overall population.

Not sure what you heard, and my memory is shite at times, but not so much on this one.

Rankings are nice and all, but its nice to see us putting so much emphasis on fortifying the trenches. Hoping Charles comes on home.
