Then I clearly stated that the short excuse for an article sounded different than the title. Hence it was clearly misleading. But you probably already used your incredible powers of reasoning to put this together.
Clearly, you don't know how to properly use pronouns.
You were clearly able to determine what was clearly stated in the article

They tried to kill me for one thing,” Benson said. Asked to explain further, Benson said, “You know by picking on my wife and when I wasn’t feeling very good they were very hostile.”
Benson specifically referred to a December 2014 incident in which his wife, Gayle Benson, was physically assaulted at a Saints game. A prior report indicated that granddaughter Rita Benson LeBlanc accosted Gayle Benson. Tom Benson testified that his daughter, Renee, was the aggressor.
Proof that you can take somebody out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of somebody.

Didn't he say Saints fans were trying to kill him in Baton Rouge too?

Some of you people are so fricking stupid. And it's not just you it, it reaches all the way to national "journalists".
First of all, most of you didn't read the article, because he didn't mean it literally at all.
Second of all, in the beginning, he said he was leaving all of them a shite load of money, he just didn't want to leave them in control of the actual sports teams. He said that multiple times. They are all getting millions of dollars, they just aren't getting controlling stake in the sports teams because they've all proved to be incompetent pieces of shite.
Then they went on this campaign to get him declared incompetent and mentally incapacitated and publicly humiliated him and his wife, so he said frick you then. As he should have. frick them.
Get your facts straight before you bash Tom Benson, one of the greatest men ever born in New Orleans.
He married a Gold Digger. She has been floating around the society of NOLA for a long time looking for the rich dude to marry.

Tom is slipping everyday. He really is. Anyone who is around him will acknowledge that if they're honest.

I don't blame him for not wanting to leave them anything. They are millionaires because of him. Unfortunately, he can't change that. I do wish the assets substitution is successful all the way through the court system. If they ever gain control of the Saints, heaven forbid, it will not be pretty. We would rival the Browns in total sadness.
Forbes, July 31, 2013
New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson became known as the billionaire betting on a struggling state. Now the richest man in Louisiana — worth $1.2 billion — Benson is set to rake in an estimated $392 million from state subsidies through 2025.
Four years ago, he negotiated one of the most complex — and lucrative — stadium lease agreements in the NFL, adding to his fortune as his team was bringing in estimated yearly profits of $31 million. Over 15 years, the term of the lease, the state will pay Benson at least $198 million in increased revenue from the Superdome, $142 million in rental payments on property Benson owns, $10 million in bonuses for bringing the Super Bowl to New Orleans and $2.6 million in tax breaks. Benson will get another $40 million from private rent payments to a tower he bought as part of the deal.
The agreement was fully implemented for the first time last season. Because of the complexity of the deal, it has only recently become apparent how much Benson will make from it.
The man used a national tragedy to force the state into one of the worst agreements in the NFL after threatening to move the team repeatedly. He doesnt care about New Orleans. He doesnt love New Orleans. He will move the team the second Louisiana tries to reduce the amount of annual payments they make to him each year.

Tom Benson's wealth came primarily from the success of the New Orleans Saints under Payton. He wasn't that rich before! And y'all are right about him trying to move the team out of LA during one of the worst tragedies ever suffered by the state to San Antoine. Just a low down move until the NFL(Tagliabue) stopped him, so I don't see him as a hero like some of you are trying to make him out to be. He knew how LA felt about the Saints and how they supported that team and yet he still tried an underhanded low down move like that. Just plain messed up.
and sooner or later more sooner he will push for a new stadium as the Superdome even with all it's modern renovations will still become obsolete because of all the new stadiums being built around the league.

Bruh....there is no room for mere facts in the discussion on the "greatest man in Louisiana".
