Possibly the rain in the forecast for Friday?

quote:Yep. If rain interrupts the game on Friday, Coach Dunn would probably prefer to have Smith be the pitcher who can't return after a long rain delay rather than Poche. That's my guess.

Im more interested that we are giving smith a start. Guess they are just trying to throw shite at the wall and see what sticks. Hope we havent given up on gilbert

If the rain forecast changes before Friday night, it wouldn't surprise me if Gilbert gets the start.

Thursday at game time doesn't look all that promising either.

Reward for going 6 innings, 0 ER 0/4 BB/SO against Notre Dame. Does he throw harder than Poche?

Gilbert is first up any signs of trouble, then Bain.

At first pitch it's only showing 20%, but starting at 7pm it goes up to 80% and stays there all through Friday until about 6pm ( according to NOAA).

Game 1: Lange/Newman (if we have the lead)
Game 2: Smith/Gilbert/Bugg (due to rain possibility)
Game 3: Poche/Bain
Then use Norman, Valek, Reynolds, and Stallings as situations dictate.

Man we need that first game in the worst way.

So....
We don't have a 3rd starter yet again. Awesome.

Am I missing something here but didn't Gilbert have a solid outing last time? Why are we rolling with a guy that's thrown maybe 15 innings tops all year in one of the most important series of the year? Weird but ok

Valek went from our #1 to maybe #4. Norman went from #4 to nowhere. Gilbert went from #3 maybe to meh.

This is just ridiculous.
