It isn't too surprising. The Greenway is a great idea. But it runs right behind some gubment assisted housing before it runs into Claiborne. I think they have plenty of lighting and cameras, but that won't stop the local youths from finding creative ways to pay for those college applications.

Sounds like they're not just after money. They're looking to kill no matter what.

can't leave no witnesses...

but yeah that Lafitte Greenway is 15-20 years ahead of its time... eventually gentrification will enable everyone who uses it to feel safe, but not right now

There seems to be only one solution to these issues.

Two things--I can't remember any green ways in the "bad" parts of Nashville; and the "bad" parts of Nashville aren't comparable to the bad parts of New Orleans.

Great description

Actually it is a terrific description because if you go to NOLA.com these assholes don't provide any descriptions as a matter of public policy.

NOLA.com versus Fox 8 Description = Fox 8 wins hands down

"Gamble said two of the suspects were described as in their 20s with a slim build and wearing white T-shirts. The third suspect was in his 30s with a medium build, also in a white T-shirt. One of the suspects in his 20s and the suspect in his 30s were both described as having short hair. No description of the hair of the remaining suspect's hair was provided."

nola.com commentors get so riled up about this. It's a stupid policy, but it's not like "black male in a white t-shirt" is any more descriptive than "male in a white t-shirt." And, given where this happened, it's not like anyone ever doubted the perps' skin color.
