Question for law enforcement/lawyers

Are collapsible police batons legal for civilians to carry on their person, in their vehicle, or keep in their home? Does the length of the baton effect this? Does a concealed carry permit effect this?

I carry an old hickory stick. Beat my goat with it too. He never shuts up

Just go get a tire thumper at the nearest truck stop.

Ask Tangerine, he's an expert on all things police.

Off the top of my head, I don't think anything bars you from carrying one.
Just remember if you do and you don't know retention techniques they can be easily taken away from you and you against you.

Reminds me of the time my dad bought police night sticks for me and my friends at the gun and knife show when we were 9. He got a few phone calls after that.
OP: if they sell it on Amazon, you're probably in the clear. LINK

A non collapsible nation is much more effective.

Depending on where you hit someone with it, it is considered deadly force. Check the laws in your state for concealed weapons. They are normally pretty specific in listing them.
Never take it to a gun fight.

I don't know your laws in your area.
The baton is called an ASP. They really aren't all that effective. They have a ball on the tip that you must place pretty accurately to work effectively. If you miss and just hit with the shaft, it is too thin and lite to have much choice impact.
Axe handle works a lot better.
