I was at CHS at that time, although younger, and I remember that video very well! We were all so excited about it! Music video shows were popular, even on the regular broadcast networks, in addition to MTV on cable which was still fairly new.
I know at least half of those people in the video. The rest I can't remember if I knew them at the time and forgot them, or if I never knew them.
One of the guys is a prominent doctor in Baton Rouge now.
Great memories! Thanks for sharing!

That was AWESOME! I love the '80s. Best decade ever.
Only one thing was missing from that video...black people.

I like how they snap their fingers and walk a la Michael Jackson. That's a fad we should all bring back.

Fwiw...I still do that, and I'm well known as being one of the coolest! No shite.

There should be others floating around. I remember seeing them on tv back then. Episcopal did The Safety Dance. Was pretty cool.

I refuse to do so on the grounds that I might incriminate myself

It's not like we can trace a brief appearance in a random video to your identity. Come on, man! I wanna see your acting and dancing skills...

It's really great work. Obviously a lot of hard work and rehearsal went into it. REALLY nice *AND* looks very professionally done.
Get it preserved in digits ASAP and thanks for posting.

Damn, this is a good video. Miss the '80s and it will be my 30th reunion this year.

Not sure what ee would have liked to have done one with: Sugarhill Gang, Kool Moe Dee's Wild Wild West or a Newcleus song. Maybe something else.

Jam On It would have been a great choice.
Who is that guy in the hat and tie? That shite was awesomely awful and appropriate for the time.

I don't have a clue as to who they are as I didn't go to school in Baton Rouge.
ETA: I forgot that Wild Wild West was released in 1988 so that would have been impossible to use in '86.

Not in the video, but I do remember seeing it on PM magazine because my brother was there at the time. Blast from the past.

I don't remember that. Then again, 32 years removed some memories.

We had smoking benches at school since we were 12.
