Or is there something i didnt know and you werent required to pay sales tax on season tickets last year.

I don't think they were taxed. This is new. But now that the tax is here, I'm sure it won't go away after the state budget mess is fixed.

Correct. You weren't required to pay sales tax on tickets in prior years.
