1. New Orleans Saints
Sean Payton had only five draft picks to work with this year, so a strong UDFA class was a must. The Saints found two potential starters in guards Landon Turner and Avery Young (who could end up at tackle eventually). Offensive tackle Ryker Mathews and centers Jack Allen and Marcus Henry also have NFL futures. Getting receiver Michael Thomas in the second round was a steal, and either Jordan Williams (tough possession receiver) or Jared Dangerfield (taller downfield threat) could make the roster. Depth was needed at defensive back, so picking up De'Vante Harris, Ken Crawley, Trae Elston and Michael Caputo was a haul. Although D.J. Pettway didn't play much at Alabama, his skill set is worth a look.

this is truly a prize. with mid late rounds of draft being such a crap shoot and the UDFA's are becoming increasingly important and playing more vital roles in the NFL, when you land a great UDFA class, your draft is instantly that much more successful.

Didn't Dangerfield torch LSU a few times last year?

I still can't understand why the Saint's did not draft Collins in a late round last year. They had to know that the 2 guards they have were not up to par.

Time will tell. When they hit the field. Our current starting guards were both UDFA's. Senio got beat like a drum last year. He could improve though.

These rating and draft grades mean nothing. I would love to see a list of UDFA from the 3 years ago who are still on a 53 man roster.
