Do you have what it takes to be successful?

And what would that be in list form?
As for me, I sure do have what it takes since I am:
Like the Road Runner - I'm hard to trap and hard to kill
Like the Gingerbread Man - I'm hard to catch
Like Guile from Street Fighter II - I'm a fierce brawler type
Like Spider Man - I use my senses (common sense and hunches)
Like Victor from Dead Man Down - I'm an anti-hero with some military expertise
Like Columbo from Columbo - I'm cleverly smart with keen detective skills

Just when I think the OT couldn't get any shittier, there's always a post like this.

Congrats. You own the worst post I have ever read.

Yes. Here's the list:
1. Extreme intelligence
Went to college on a top 10 scholarship, got early entry into dental school after 6 semesters, breezed through it, then walked right into a great practice. Success shouldn't be this easy - it could spoil someone and lead to ego inflation.

What is your definition of success? Pretty sure that everybody has a different one.
Mine: To have a little guitar shop right beside my house. I want to be home all the time with my wife and kid. I want to sale, trade, minor repair. Be around the things I love, all day, every day.
I am almost there, the shop building is built, but unfinished inside. I have a pretty good pile of guitars to sale (been buying good guitars for 30 years, whenever I had the money, and came across a good deal) I have been working towards this dream for a very long time, and when I finally open my shop, I won't have much debt.
As far as"having what it takes",it's all about determination.Nothing can stop me,except for myself. I have been sidetracked and delayed a few times though.

"Balance with priorities"
Beware, "success" in the modern world is often inversely proportional to happiness unless you have balance..
The questions that you should be asking yourself include:
- When is it enough?
- How to I strip away the unecessary to distill down the absolute essentials?
- How do I structure my lifestyle to maintain balance?
- How do I maximize the utilization of my time (the most precious non-renewable resource available). You can always make more money, you cannot get any more time.
Success and happiness can have a better chance at co-existing if this is the construct you are using....

My list.... Intelligence. Determination. Most important however, is the ability to Delay Gratification! Stay home and study instead of going chase tail all night. Don't drink or do drugs so much so that it hurts your chances of success. If the SO is not supportive, lose him or her. Worked for me .

I have come to the sad conclusion that I do not have what it takes to be successful. :(

After hearing and reading about what some of these old guys I have known have done, I don't think I'll ever get to their level. Never knew much of their accomplishments because they were humble enough not to talk about them.
I was reading about my old pediatrician yesterday, and it made me feel like a huge loser. This dude did more in 2 years than I've done in 32 Dr. Rinker and LINK 2. God damn, how can anyone get to that level? I never knew most of it either, and I saw him from when I was 3 until 18
