How not to sight fish....

So I did some sight fishing Saturday afternoon and landed a few reds. So Sunday morning I tried again. And the fish were there, but my head was not. Everything went wrong at the right time.... From lines tangled around the rod tip, to running over the fish, sight fishing by yourself is hard work.
Here is a link to some raw footage. At the end the reds were everywhere, but I couldn't get them to bite.

What were you fishing with?

I was using a small weightless shrimp drop shot rig. It works well to keep the bait in front the fish. (Sometimes). They didn't want it that morning but wore them out the evening before

were you on mushrooms or acid during this video?

Gold spoon would've crush it right there.

As i stated, its raw footage. I just wanted to show everyone the amount of reds i saw in one spot and the frustration of not being able to get them to bite. I changed baits after, but with no success. they had lockjaw that morning.
I really needed a second person in the boat to pole. the fish spooked alot because i would see them, and then just keep drifting into them.

this is why I bring a bow and force feed them.

I had a panic attack watching you cast that rig. Seems like it would get hung on itself a lot.

it is a cluster of a rig, but i have lots of confidence in the setup.

Get rid of the drop shot and throw something like a paddle tail on a weighted weedless hook, gold spoon, or spinner bait.

To sight fish you need patients, quickness, and accuracy.
Patients to not blindly cast when you are not seeing fish. Need to be ready at all times
Quickness to react when do see the fish.
Accuracy to make a long cast into a small window.
And you are correct, that video was none of that, kudos to you for sharing, I would have burned it.
Friendly suggestions, ditch the drop shot rig. Get comfortable with something else, it's complicating things.
You seem to be determined to use a spinning reel, while it's nice to have something to cast into a song wind with, it's not necessary when sight fishing. Chances are you will not be sight fishing in a strong wind anyway. Consider a bait caster.

When they that close and not biting start trying different baits. They will bite on something.
And nothing wrong with a spinning reel. Usually guys that make fun of them are the ones in the boat not catching fish.
where are you fishing?
