Aranda as a recruiter

does anyone know his reputation as a recruiter?

no one really knows much, but he's willing to get out and talk to kids from what I've seen.
I imagine he's not a road warrior and not a sleepover type of guy, but he's straight and to the point and willing to speak with kids in a very approachable manner.
But he'll never compare to Chavis, aka king kodiak

Idk how he can recruit but he's proven to be one of the best at developing.

Based upon the early interest and offers to a number of LBs, which is clearly more than in past years, I would say he is already making his mark.
Once we get his defense in place and we show what we can do, that will be another data point he can show on his progress and his D style.

The quality of defense and development of players will contribute to his recruiting. He seems like more of his actions speaking louder than his words. I think that's how he will sell his defense.

Anecdotal, but based on things Devin White and Andre Anthony have said it seems his greatest attribute is the ability to explain to kids exactly how he plans on using them.
He'll probably never be as naturally charismatic as, say, Ed O, but his ability to communicate his philosophy will endear himself to kids.

His reputation will precede him well...he doesn't have be a salesman so much with his smooth words...actions speak louder than words...

Honestly, better than Chavis, not as good as Steele...but we've got plenty of elite recruiters on this staff. The allure to Aranda is his cerebral schemes to extract the most out of players in his defense.

From what's been written about him since his arrival, he seems like a results driven guy. That, and seeing how he utilizes different guys should be an easy selling point.

If he isn't yet, next years draft will turn him into one.
He picked a great time and place to get some ammo. The list of guys he can say he coached that will pour into NFL the next few years will make it hard not to be a successful recruiter for a while

Not a cfb recruiting expert by any means, but from a high level, having a mixture of Orgeron and Aranda would be extremely effective IMO. From a cursory look at some stuff on Aranda and just going off of reputation/delivery here... a good cop/bad cop routine with a legendary enthusiastic motivator, and a locked on/squared away tactician who talks to you like a man, seems like a perfect combination on recruiting and development in the Front 7. Along with Raymond of course, I'm very excited to see what happens with this defensive staff.

He was here last week and reports from a couple of schools he went were that he has a great,humorous personality and open,funny,relaxed conversation at first meet unless he starts talking foot ball. He then becomes very focused and pointed in his communication and his reception was very favorable and positive, We'll be fine.

Aranda will solve our biggest issue with recruitng in recent years and that's bringing in top LBERS. Our rep as dbu will always give us pick of the db litter and with Ed O dline will be as good as anyone in the country.

Aranda is terrific at evaluating personnel to fit his scheme. at Wisconsin he did have a rich group of players from which to select, but he always found adequate talent for a good defense. He also talks well to the players and they rspond to him. Evidently LSU players feel he is really smart and listen to him. I think he will be a really good recruiter when they come on campus and talk to him on the phone after they meet him. He doesn't have to be the field contact guy to be an important cog in recruiting defensive players.
