Did I say that? I'm just saying the Keto diet isn't a cure for depression. I mean it gets you in shape and all, now it cures your clinical depression?

Junky's experience won't everybody's experience. Doctors are not going to go around telling people with clinical depression to eat keto to cure it. I'm not saying cutting carbs will fix everyone's problems.. But to insinuate that dietary changes wouldn't potentially fix a biological function of the brain is asinine. What you put in your body affects everything in your body, and a bad diet could cause hormonal imbalances that could lead to a myriad of unexpected problems.

Ok, let me make a slight correction. I was diagnosed with Dysthymia, chronic mild depression.
The ketogenic diet may have mood-stabilizing properties.
The Neuropharmacology of the Ketogenic Diet
use of ketone ester in a case of Alzheimer's disease.
Beyond weight loss: a review of the therapeutic uses of very-low-carbohydrate (ketogenic) diets
Carbohydrates and Depression
All of these I found on Ash's website. He collects all the good, well performed, studies he can on ketosis. highsteaks.
If you've never suffered from any sort of depressive nature, you have no idea. No doctor will give diet-only as a Rx because it falls outside the "standard of care" they must abide by. Now, standard of care plus diet is appropriate. This is also backed up by the links provided above. Doctors have known about a keto diet's effect on seizures since the 1920's. Anyone suffering from mood swings/depression/bipolar would do themselves a huge favor by removing sugar from their diet.
