Red Beans & Grits (update w/ picture in OP)

On a whim, I made a pot of red beans at work today. I didn't find any rice, so I cooked a pot of grits.
It is very GOOD, I think better than rice. When the bean juice gets down into the grits, it works well.
My days of cooking red beans & rice may be over.
Edit***
The next day, I re-heated it back up, made another pot of grits. Yesterday, when I cooked the beans, I also cooked some chicken tenders in a black iron skillet. When I put the beans away, I simply put the rest of the chicken in the beans. That's what you see in this picture.

Makes sense. I eat mine over cornbread. Both corn products.

I like grits and I like beans, so, it's gotta be good!
I'm gonna try it, before I run out of rice..

I crumble up a piece of cornbread and put it over the top of the beans (rice on bottom). Most people look at me like I'm crazy when I do this, but it's my favorite way.

I've done this before and it was soooo good. I might have to try this again soon.

Speaking of corn bread, I once made of pot of red beans & rice, and I wanted cornbread, but had none. I found a box of Stove Top cornbread stuffing and made that. That was also VERY good.
