NRA banquet coming up, and my boss is getting a table that comes with his choice of a pistol. Out of the following, which is the best choice in the OB's opinion?
1. S&W M&P BG 380 w/laser
2. Ruger LC9
3. Ruger LCP380
4. Walther PK 380
5. FMK 9mm semi auto
6. Taurus PT Slim .40
7. Kel Tech PF9
I don't know anything about semi auto pistols (I suggested he take a S&W 642 .38 revolver) but he wants #2. I think I've read on here that the trigger is not that great on them??
Thanks

How much is a table? That is a pretty cool door prize for getting a table.

Not to sound like a gun snob, but out of those I'd pick up whatever has the highest resale value and flip it. The Walther or S&W?
If I had to keep one it would probably be the LC9 but I'd have to do something about that trigger.

The regular Ruger LC9 has a pretty awful trigger.
The Ruger LC9s is their striker-fired version with a much better trigger.
The Ruger LC9s Pro removes the manual thumb safety and magazine disconnect safety. I would opt for this one given the choice.

1. S&W M&P BG 380 w/laser - horrible trigger, laser breaks often
2. Ruger LC9 - if the striker fired version - a great gun
3. Ruger LCP380 - decent, but long trigger is horrible
4. Walther PK 380 - a good second choice to the Ruger
5. FMK 9mm semi auto - never heard of that brand - online reviews are not good
6. Taurus PT Slim .40 - two strikes - Taurus semi-auto AND it's a .40 - ghetto gun IMO
7. Kel Tech PF9 - meh......

The Ruger 9, given those choices.
I bought the original LCP in .380. Of course they announce the 9mm version 6 months later. I should have waited, but oh well. It does have a really long trigger that takes some getting used to, and the front sight is basically non-existent. But it does serve a purpose.

Exactly what I thought - was just trying to pick the best of the worst
A better list:
HK VP9
Walther PPQ
Sig 938
Ruger SR1911
S&W .357 revolver

And the tables are $1000. If he'd step up to a 2K table the guns are A LOT better.

i guess id take the LC9 if i really had to.

I would take the LCP because it is the one that would sell the fastest. You shouldn't have any problems selling it for $200-$220 the next day. Then add that to your gun money. As pointed out previously the LC9 is the first of three generations and if you are unfortunate enough to be stuck with one you know you can't give it away.

Get the Taurus 40 and kill something with it. Just to spite the OB.

Is there a $500 table he could choose and go out and buy his own gun for the extra $500?

The Walther PK380 is the best shooting pistol of the bunch..
Not sure what the FMK is..
