Got to give him a ring for the SEC win but I definitely think he should go before the NC game if LSU gets to play in it. He does not deserve that opportunity.

I agree with you, Scoop. Thank him for his services and send him on his way. I don't think it would be good for either program if he has to coach in our bowl/NC game. It wouldn't be fair to LSU or Nebraska.

he deserves the mnc just as much as everyone else. plus, i'd rather see him making those coaching calls in a MNC, rather than some assistant who's never done it before.

If he leaves, he should still get a NC ring if we make it and win.

I don't think so. He should have waited to make the deal after the bowl game if he wanted a ring. I believe he made the deal much sooner than he announced and his mind has been elsewhere lately.

it's not like he's the head coach, this man has a great opportunity and you cannot fault him at all for taking it. he has to leave to recruit for his school, we're talking over a month here til the game

he definitely deserves a ring if we get there and win, there should be no question about that

That is up to Les to decide along with Bo, Mark Richt did it when he was at Fla. St. and moving to UGA. And it too was a NC game. Bo should get everything everyone else got on that team.

If he does go. Thanks Bo.

I don't blame him for taking the HC job. It just makes sense. However, I don't think he should coach in the NCG and therefore he shouldn't get a ring. He already has the SECCG ring.

If I'm Nebraska, I want his arse NOW.

Fed Ex him the NC ring if you must.

"Bo, the top is right here, stay with us"

LSU only has a mil for coordinators. Not much wiggle room for les there. Plus, the guy wants to be a head coach. This is his shot.

I think he should leave immediately. He can act as a consultant to the defensive staff, this is common in this situation. Mike Stoops did the same in 2003. But the game plan and preparation has to be done by the interim DC.

Pelini gets a ring if we win it all. It's only right. Hey, DC and OC are always trying to make the jump, it isn't that they don't want to be where they are.

This is what would happen in corporate America, so why should it be any different in college? Example:

I close the biggest deal in company history. Everyone is thrilled, the company fat cats are happy, the stock edges upwards, yaddy-yadda, but before we make delivery, scheduled for a month from now, I take another position with a competitor and give the company notice that I'm leaving.

I say, "Don't worry, though. I'll stick around long enough to make sure all the loose ends are tied up and that the deal goes through smoothly. Just long enough to collect my big fat commission check."

Wanna' guess what the company does? They say, "Thanks for the effort. Appreciate the notice, but hand over the keys to your office, company car, security badge, laptop (playbook), etc.. and we'll escort you out the door. Appreciate the fine effort, but you don't get paid commissions for orders not shipped and delivered. Too bad you couldn't wait, too. That would have been a nice bonus."

You can't expect him to be the defensive coordinator after / if he's announced as the head coach of Nebraska. It wouldn't be fair to either program.

Bo Pelini was the DC for the 2007 regular season and SEC Championship. Any NC appearance or win would be directly correlated to his efforts over the course of the season.

So, while he'll be recruiting for Nebraska, LSU will be trying to get him a ring. Should LSU win, I say they send him a ring. He wasn't at the game, but he was part of the reason they got there in the first place.
