Went to my first live hockey game last week to watch the Stars-Avs, then watched on TV Saturday as Dallas clinched the top seed. I think I am hooked. Go Stars

Let's see if the Wings can keep Tyler Johnson in check this year. I guess he is day-to-day for game one. Not winning any Cups, so we'll have to celebrate playoff streaks.

That would be great. If you post some links, I'll edit the first post to include them, and I'll throw in the fancy stat pages.

NHL Bracket Challenge
I totally whiffed last year I took the Blues and Habs. Went the sentimental route

I have no dog in the fight this year so I do not know who I want to see win.
I want to see Washington and Pittsburgh play just for the heat that Toad and Baloo will bring.
For the West I guess the Blues, since it is a Missour-rah thang and want to see the Kings and Stars hook up to see Aggie on Aggie violence.

You're coming in at the right time then. Playoff hockey is legit and even more so if the team you root for is in it (I'm making the assumption this is your first nhl playoff experience with rooting interest in a specific team). If the last week of regular season hooked you or at least got the ball rolling to get you hooked, you're going to mark the f out on Thursday during the Stars first playoff game. It's intense.

Think I'm rolling with the Panthers bandwagon. Playoff bandwagoning, a CBJ fan tradition unlike any other.

Two good things can come from our favorite clubs missing out...
We can enjoy the playoffs without getting soul ripped out (thanks CP31)
We can follow baseball more closely (Thanks CMT)

It wouldn't surprise me to see any of the top seeds go down in first round. Some really tough 6,7,8 seeds, who all can find ways to win games. None are over matched.
Will be very interesting how Blues-Hawks series goes. Hitchcock pulls the reigns and wants to play a tight checking, 2-1 game, we could see players get defeated and it becomes the same ole, same ole.. Last year when Hitch went back to his system, after having a good season and letting the players play, the players looked like some one stole their souls. a few looked like they quit. Oshie was traded, because of how poor he played, guy looked like he threw in the towel.

I'd be surprised. The Wild are not very good and should get steamrolled by the Stars. The Islanders are a walking MASH unit and while they are probably better than the Cats when at full strength... they are not at full strength. The Flyers have been "red hot" while the Caps have been slumping, yet the Caps earned more standings point in their last 15 games. So even at the Flyers best and the Caps worst, the Caps still outplayed the Flyers.
OK, Anaheim and Nashville is real intriguing. But the other three division winners should advance. If they don't, it's their own damn fault.
