If losing some games is mediocrity you will always be mediocre because you will never ever win them all all the time. The reactions are more like those of sore losers. You are going to lose some games regardless who the coach is or how great individual players are, some times the teams are not ready to perform. Golden State Warriors just lost two games at home to mediocre teams.
Of course I understand some of the reactions come from those who don't have much going in their personal life.

I don't know the answer to that, just responding to the bat signal I received.

The reality of the situation is that all three is the reasoning behind a loss. This board gets in arguments about if it is the players or coaches fault when actually it is the players and coach at fault along with the other team executing and/or taking advantage of our players and coach making a mistake.

I bash Bama fans for it all the time.

I'm really not sure what the purpose of the Rant would be if not to share the joy and misery that is college sports.
I guess GEAUX TIGERS would only generate a finite number of posts...

The problem with the Rant is that misery is celebrated way more than joy. Here every silver cloud has a gray lining.

Not any situation is ever the same.

Coaching can absolutely impact the results.

You just don't understand. They play madden and other electronic sports games. This gives them more knowledge than any coach here. If LSU would only listen to them it would be undefeated in every sport

No. That would require some level of maturity.

Well because most of the time we have a really good chance to win the game, but a player or coach screws us over.

Half of them can't be happy when we are winning.

of course. even the evil nick saban's teams lose a game occasionally. the fact is, les miles and the LSU football team is compared to the bama team and the bama team comes out on top most of the time. theiy recruit better than anyone in the country and while we recruit very well, saban cherry picks most of the states, including Louisiana. then he selects top flight assistant coaches and there you have it. if Saban had not been LSU's coach at one time, some of our fans would still compare Miles to him but since he WAS our coach these fans will NEVER BE SATISFIED with him. they will always want the HC that had a great year last year. right now it's Hermann at UH but they have pined and demanded a different coach every year (coach de jour).

internet message boards are full of people that have never actually participated in organized sports at a high school or above level. they have played electronic football games and transfer that experience to their demands. it is also obvious that many of these same posters have little or no experience at life; my assumption is that mommy and daddy still pay the bills and they are spoiled as little children. they are accustomed to getting their way and money is no object. hence, they don't mind paying ex coaches a fortune to satisfy contractual requirements; just fire 'em and hire the guy that had a great season last year. if he stumbles (or WHEN he does), fire him and plug in the guy that was hot last year.

I feel your pain, Dorothy. Those nasty old coaches and nasty young players lose the game just to ruin your day. They do it on purpose don't they? They hate you.

This is nothing new. LSU fans, for as long as I can remember, have demanded a whipping boy.

It happens not just when LSU loses, but every time LSU plays and doesn't dominate the other team or doesn't win by a large enough margin or doesn't throw the ball enough for some.

I've seen on here players and coaches get vilified after a win. The primary objective in any sporting event is to win, but you wouldn't know that after some LSU wins.

Having said that, this is nothing singular to LSU fans.

It's not as simplistic as that. It's about whether we're playing to our maximum capabilities.

Example, if we play the very worst team in the country at home, and we win 2-0. We get outgained 400-50 and score our only points on a gift safety.

You don't think fans should be critical after that game? Our should we be happy merely because we won?

Here is a shocker for you. LSU athletic programs do not exist solely so you can feel good about yourself.
The coaches and players don't put in hours and hours of work just so you can strut and beat your chest and brag about how great "we" are.
The purpose of the exercise is to win.
