Landrieu isn't going to do shite. Mayor after mayor, they are all cowards. They could give two shites what happens in the city besides taking down some statues, and for what? That's politicians for you. Just as scummy as the people who murdered Will Smith. This city really needs some change now.

I was being sarcastic. It annoys me that he's dead and it's shamelessly becoming a referendum on statues.

This will be exactly what the shooter says. That way when you are in a traffic accident, and a giant man is aggressive towards you, you can defend yourself. Let's please wait for some more information to come out before we form any firm opinions. Whatever happened, we know the men didn't run, and will face their responsibilities for what transpired.

Cordell doesn't look like he can face much responsibility. frick you for defending him killing a former Saints player and shooting his wife.

I'm not anti gun at all. I'm anti needing a gun with me at all times because I don't feel safe wherever I go.

Kind of a weird comment.

I'm not sure saying at least three was implying anything sinister. Could just mean there were three kids in that picture and they might have had another one after that picture, or there was also a baby they didn't take to the restaurant.

He will say he was threatened and was in fear for his life. In reality smith prob "disrespected" him verbally and that's what led to the shooting.

Not at all. I don't know any of these people. In a criminal case though I am glad that the police have the men in custody, and we aren't left wondering who did it, just why. They will get to the bottom of this. I was actually out near that area when this happened, and drive that street often. It is not wasted on me that this could have been me, or someone I love. I just wish we had the patience to find out what happened, before sanctifying a man to whom we were all strangers.

This POS Cardell Hayes was once a good DT in high school and recruit too, shame what his life turned out to be. He ended up killing a real football player

Just waking up to the news. fricking frick the dude in the Hummer.

Folks may not want to turn this into a political thing, but take a look around. Mitch worrying about statues while a fricking former Saints star player is getting gunned down in the streets over an accident altercation. New Orleans has never been the safest city in parts but the rap sheet on this place will never change if the leaders aren't willing to do what it takes. Clean this fricking city up.

This really has little to do with Mitch Landrieu or New Orleans being safe or unsafe. This was apparently a road rage incident.
