That's one study. You wouldn't do one study on a new drug and then subject the general public to the new drug and put them at risk of harm.

Burden of the proof is on the one trying to change the law.

We see first hand accounts of how this scope of practice expansion stuff is unsafe.

And is it a DM/HTN article u picked with the hope that optometrists may one day manage DM and HTN like that optometric politician in California advocates for?

Anecdotal evidence is useless. I'm sure plenty of people have first hand accounts of how this scope of practice expansion stuff is safe. I'm sure plenty of people have first hand accounts of how primary care physicians (and other doctors) are unsafe. What is your point?

You are looney if you really believe 1/6 - 1/8 of an education provides equivalent healthcare in a clinic full of all kinds of pathology

Once again you've added nothing of substance. I hope the admins anchor this thread immediately.

Again, the physicians can regulate this by placing restrictions/ limitations on the physicians that supervise the NPs, why do they choose not to?

Returned to the calendar, a sign that they did not have the votes to pass it and are hoping CVS will pony up some more money so they can try to buy.....persuade some more votes

Per the NPs, they did not have votes to pass the bill in its current form. They are cooking up some amendment.

Ignoring the fact that physicians tried to place limitations on CA costs which was refused by NPs, already have restrictions on the # of charts required to review and document, and are held to a burden of expertise and litigation already does not negate that those things are true.

Should additional control on physician oversight be in acted? Possibly. How many NP'S are asking for that?

Should more hefty penalties be enforced for failure to meet minimums for physicians? Most likely. Where is the bill for that?

What does that even mean?
The substance is in the training

Except you keep making shite up about training? 1/8th the training?

You do realize the respect a family practice doc gets in this day and age is equivocal to an NP in most institutions....

Hell ER NPs are making more money than them.....

Guy...there are NP schools that are administered online. Only online. As in, they never have to step foot in a classroom.

LINK

Pretty sure med schools or residencies aren't administered online.

I'm not sure which Louisiana you live in. It's clearly not the one I know. Scroll back to the picture summarizing training/educational hours. Family docs do 11 years post high school. Much of that is 80 or more hour weeks.

Some nps go to school in part online

You're a troll with zero knowledge of healthcare training and no respect for physicians who sacrificed their youth to study disease. All imma say there

That's the pot calling the kettle black...

You have disrespected nurses numerous times in this thread, downplaying their education and their role in healthcare.

He's the epitome of the stereotypical a-hole, narcissistic, out of touch doc that many people have.
