reasonable weight

That wasn't the answer I was looking for. I thought you had a particular size in mind. My wife is a size 8 and I work hard to keep her around there. If I stop bringing candy/doughnuts/sweet things she enjoys eating she will quickly drop to a size 6 if not a 4. Her metabolism is ridiculous. And the extra weight goes directly to her boobs and arse.

Yeah but every woman is gonna be different depending on their height and frame.

I've gained weight that I'm working on getting rid of(but to be fair...my husband has as well). We are both not content with just giving up and letting ourselves go and are taking strides to keep ourselves attractive to one another.

I understand what you are saying. My wife is blessed to be very tall (she doesn't see this as a blessing) and naturally thin. She wants to tighten up but I am fine with her just as she is right now. I on the other hand need to lose 15-20.

She went from a petite hotty to literally fat. I'm not talking chubby...nearing obese. Weighed more than I did and it was getting worse.

Maybe you were the problem?

My height has been a huge saving factor. I can easily hide an extra 10 lbs on my frame compared to a shorter woman. But I'm so weight obsessed that it doesn't matter if others can tell or not...I can tell and that's enough to make me obsess over it.

I really I would have gotten into a routine with healthy eating/exercising in my early 20s. Would have made things much easier for me now.

Wasn't necessary then. Couldn't see what was coming in 15 yrs.

I've been up and down with my weight for the last 15 yrs. at my highest I was 240. Too much weight for my frame. I've been as low as 185-190. I feel great there but look like I have AIDS. 200-205 is probably ideal for me but it's hard as hell to stay at that weight.

I've always been a relatively healthy person with diet and exercise, but age and height catches up no matter what. I'm 5'3, but I feel like I'm managing okay. I do have to be more mindful these days though, and I LOVE beer.

Not only that...but did he try to be supportive of her losing weight? Did he try to encourage them to do active stuff together? Start eating healthy at home so she would be encouraged to eat better? Was she dealing with depression or some serious stuff(loss of family member, etc) that would have contributed to the massive weight gain?

They have a tv show for that. It's called The Biggest Loser.

It really does. Girlfriend of mine is naturally thin...she always ate what she wanted and never worked out a day in her life. She's my age and has recently started complaining of clothes not fitting her like they used to. She just had her third child and got spoiled because the first two pregnancies she dropped the weight quickly(actually so much that she always weighed less than her pre baby weight). It was funny, her whining about it. Just told her "welcome to the club sweetie"

Not saying any of these are bad ideas, they're good.

But it sounds like the blame is being shifted more to the poster, when that's on the one whose physical appearance drastically changed.

All it takes is self hatred and you can turn your life around.

I hate my body. I absolutely hate it. That's why I'm in the gym 5 to 6 days a week and eating healthy.

Yup. Most of my friends are active, avid runners and whatnot, so I don't hear too much complaining. However, even though most of my girlfriends exercise, they're not super thin. Staying fit is no joke!
I like your style lsunurse. I wonder if we've crossed paths; I'm a social worker.

Thanks I haven't lived in BR in 10 years now so we likely haven't crossed paths.
