My wife wears very little make-up. I have never really gone for a girl who did anyway. I definitely like the way she looks right out of the shower.

Yeah I got lucky there personally. My wife bounced back like a champ. She's lucky she has decent genetics otherwise she'd be a hog looking bitch with the way she eats and doesn't really exercise.

On one hand, this shouldn't really be something *most* men encounter. The average woman doesn't wear enough makeup/apply it in a professional manner. Some foundation, powder, mascara, blush, etc. enhances their looks and smooths out skin, but doesn't do anything too dramatic.

On the other hand, there ARE women out there who are really into makeup. They buy legit products and know how to apply it in a professional manner. These women can look like complete different people before and after. I've been impressed lately at some chicks I've seen that I NEVER thought would have the ability to look the way they do with makeup.

They are that way because they are unattractive without all that makeup.

On a side note, at the "I prefer no makeup all the time".

A lot of men don't realize that "naturally" pretty women you see in public often have makeup on. Just because you don't have black eyeshadow on and fake lashes doesn't mean you aren't wearing makeup.

Men love to say they want zero makeup on a woman, but put two women (both hot) side by side, and they'll choose the one with moderate/flattering makeup by a mile.

Look at all of the celebs/models that get posted on here that the majority of posters worship. They all have dyed hair, professionally manicured nails, even skin, perfect/flawless face (MAKEUP!), etc. Those things can enhance a person without looking clownish if done moderately.

Some of the most "plain" people I know still get their hair colored and nails manicured and brows waxed and wear moderate makeup. Most people's hair starts changing colors and looking flat as they get older. If you want subtle natural-looking-brunette hair, it often needs to be dyed to keep looking even.

Women feel the need to alter their looks because of the constant criticism and pressure from men to look a certain way. So guys, this is all your fault.

Very good thread. Complexion is incredibly important down the road. Trust me, I'm 44 and women my age who don't have it know it. The makeup compensation at this age is very noticeable and sadly, a rather large turnoff.

A big problem on top of that is that the average woman can't/won't spend the money necessary for quality makeup. Not hating --- I don't buy a ton of expensive professional makeup either, but I also have clear skin. But the problem is that if you have a terrible complexion, most affordable makeup looks caked and terrible on your skin.

Those pics you posted always make me want to try contouring makeup. Just looks so complicated though.

Close girl friend of mine spends a fortune on Bobby Brown. She's cute and still pretty fit... issue is she was a sun lover in her teens and 20's.

Leather purse face affect. See it out here in Scottsdale quite a bit with women in their 40s. I may not be good about applying sunscreen to my arms and legs when I'm outside...but I never leave my house without some sort of spf on my face. Always wear hat and big sunglasses when I go hiking now as well to help save my face.
