What if he's not leaving? Then he's damaged the program considerably.
And if he's gone? Not saying so is just plain cowardly, something I didn't think he would do. Assumably, the players already know what he's going to do and recruiting has to be suffering by his not out right saying I'm an LSU guy or I'm a Michigan guy. The only way I see him saving face is making an anouncement BEFORE the game tomorrow, not afterwards. All this waiting reminds me too much of SOS and Saban, too much ego and greed and no humility and honesty. shite or get off the pot, Les. This is not what we want our players to learn from coaching. Commit. Sorry folks....just a rant from a fan. carry on.

why would he start talking about it when he's already stated he's not going to talk about it until the season is over? wouldn't you then call him a liar?

It might be different if this were about money or climbing up the coaching ladder, but I think most people get the "home" angle. If he stays everything will go back to normal and losing the Arkansas game and shot at the MNC will have more of an impact on the program than how he handled UM's offer.

seems Clintonesque to me. Why not just tell the truth now? What possible scenario would it be to his advantage now not to say where he will be?

Ridiculous.

His dream job, his alma mater, his LSU, and the timing of Carr's retirement announcement was crappy, but Les had no control over that. I think Coach Miles is handling this perfectly.

Oh, and maybe he is telling the truth right now. If this evolves and changes, which this kind of thing does, then he can announce. But what would you have him do? How could he not explore this chance of a lifetime?

Recruiting is not suffering by his silence. Whoever the new coach is will get a clean slate and available recruits will give that person a chance to convince them. Remember, Bama had no coach in place for a month last year, and their recruiting class arguably IMPROVED.

I agree, if he's using this Michigan thing to enhance his position at LSU it's wrong and the program is already suffering from a recruiting standpoint. LSU was going to bump him up irregardless of the finish to this year, there's no need to play the leverage card now.
Do you think Michigan wants to wait for an answer that might not be positive for their program. If you want to stay at LSU then come out and say it.
