Thats actually a really awesome idea. What about food wise?

well they have a BBQ place in house that is good, but i think i once read on here they let you bring in your own catering. It would be an extra expense but it may balance out for you.

I had a Seafood boil (crabs, crawfish, shrimp, rock shrimp, stone crab claws) for my rehearsal dinner at a local park with a big pavillion, if I got married again I'd do the same thing.

Any opinions of Pat O's on the River? I know it's mainly used for receptions but I'm curious if it can be used for a rehearsal dinner. It's a pretty big space. Not sure if they can divide it up so it wouldn't look too empty.

Pat Os is ok. River view room is much better.
If you are going that route there is a new place called the Jaxson that is along the river that you might consider

Most people were in hotels close by but the stairs are narrow and steep my mom had some trouble but I my nephews are big tall boys so they helped.p. Cochon option is odd when we looked at it. Unless you rent the entire space you can't have music because all the rooms will hear it so it's basically background noise.

Had ours on the top floor of the Windsor court, food was great and they have a rooftop patio for before and after socializing. Would highly recommend

I liked ours at Dragos. It was just a room, but everyone enjoyed the menu.

yea i like it there also. My fiance is having her "bridal tea" or some crap there, so she doesn't want to use the location for multiple events.

Check out Austin's in Metairie. Really good food at a reasonable price. I went through a similar list like you have 4 years ago and way too expensive. Austin's was about $50 - $55 / person for a pick of 3 - 4 options on a four course meal. House wine and drinks were included in the price. They have a private side room that can sit about 50 people. We had 45 in our party and the cost was less than $3,000 with tip. Steak was one of the entree selections along with a redfish dish for another entree option. Everyone loved the food.

Last year we had a rehearsal dinner for my son at GW Finns...they have a nice private room that will hold about 50. Food, wine and service was on point and I felt very reasonably priced. They have an option of shared apps and shared desserts that is THE way to go. Check them out...
