Defending the 2013 LSU Football team (And all the Les Miles hate)

I hate to do this but I wanted everyone to see something. (Especially everyone that uses this season as a reason for hating Les Miles, on top of many others)
The NFL talent we had on that offense was amazing!
2013 NFL Draft Recap
Rd 1 (12th) - Odell Beckham Jr., Giants
Rd 2 (51st) - Ego Ferguson, Bears
Rd 2 (55th) - Jeremy Hill, Bengals
Rd 2 (63rd) - Jarvis Landry, Dolphins
Rd 3 (92nd) - Trai Turner, Panthers
Rd 5 (156th) - Lamin Barrow, Broncos
Rd 6 (178th) - Zach Mettenberger, Titans
Rd 6 (181st) - Alfred Blue, Texans
Rd 7 (239th) - James Wright, Bengals
Why does Les Miles get so much hate for losing 3 games that season because of all the players we had on offense?
I bring this up because the 2016 NFL draft is coming up and there is one school that is quietly going to dominate the first round of the draft...
Ohio State
Projected 1st Round Players
Joey Bosa, DE
Ezekiel Elliott, RB
Darron Lee, OLB
Eli Apple, CB
Taylor Decker, OT
Michael Thomas, WR
Vonn Bell, SS
Does that make Urban Meyer not as great a coach as we all thought? Or does he get a pass because he won more championships?
What is the measurement of success to an LSU fan?

He won a championship last year and lost 1 game this year.

Ohio Stat/ Urban beat Bama and won a National Championship with those players. LSU/ Les Miles did not. The 2013 team had an average at best defense and a sub-par o-line.

But I have seen people around here ask about that team and what makes them so terrible with the talent they had compared to what's about to happen with Ohio State.
They did lose one game in 2015 but also didn't make the CFB playoffs

pretty obvious.
He's a top 2 coach in america.
and they lost 1 fricking game last year. I dont know how you can compare the 2

Soooooo, 1 < 3
And as already pointed out, Urban won a national title with those guys last year. Les lost 3 games the year before including an epic meltdown in the Chicken Bowl.

Man you are sad. You're comparing a team that lost one game and the previous season won a natty to a team who lost like 3 games and then even more the next. Idiotic

Tade our defense in 2013 was full of holes. Nothing but youth. Attrition catches up to everyone eventually

Urban ran from the SEC. Invented a disease in fact to pull it off. The day the easy Ohio State job opened the disease went away!
Got one of the best jobs in all of sports while the confetence wAs going thru an alltime low. Excellent fit for the job and Urban is a good coach. But he wouldnt have won crap if he had stayed at Florida. Stay real. Obviously he realized this and quit on his contract and players. Had a complete loaded team last year and lost to Michigan State at home. 2013 was an alltime offensive class at LSU but coincided with the worst defense LSU has had in almost 2 decades.
It is what it is and your post is logical to anyone that doesn't despise Miles. If anyone thinks Meyer wouldve done better than Miles if he had stayed in the SEC ( without Tebow and both Florida State and Miami handing him the top recruits at the time vs quitting ) doesn't understand the grind and pressure to coach in this league long term at any other school but Gumpville . His stomach knotted up in the easy East without having to face Saban every year like it was. But lets not let his record at Easy Ohio State interfere with the real story.

Yeah obviously you gotta give Urban credit for last year but the 1 loss this year isn't comparable. They played 2 decent teams and lost to 1.
Posted on 3/18/16 at 2:53 pm to tadelatt
It's not championship or bust.... Just get us to a Playoff berth or BCS bowl game and the fans will be happy!!!! What ever happens there is whatever we just want to play in the games we feel like we are supposed to with the level of talent we have year in and out.

Warranted criticism? Hyperbolic kneejerk ? Lmao
Put Miles up against anyone that has coached in this league not named Saban, since his arrival at LSU. Theres plenty of that warranted criticism you speak of at all the schools not named LSU. Quitters, one great QB and then free fallers, underachievers and then theres Les. The man that is still rolling along with another damn strong team getting ready for 2016.

Embarrassing that they lost that many.

Horrible comparison. They won a national title, we didn't. We should have been better, that's all there is to it.

This is just flat out ridiculous, bro. So LSU and Les Miles are above criticism? Untouchable? Give me a break. Anyone can see that Les Miles is a good coach, with glaring weaknesses. And I guess 4 straight 3-or-more loss seasons is "rolling along" to you? This is the worst case of P&G glasses I've ever seen.
