Getting Saban back would be a feather in LSU's cap

He will have spurned the mighty, tradition-rich Crimson Tide in favor of Baton Rouge. The boost to LSU's image would be considerable, as would the egg on Bama's face.
Having said all that... I don't want that mercenary quitter back.

That is kind of an angle I see. On the surface it would look bad, but it would make people wonder why in the hell would he take the public scorn just to go back to BR. It would speak volumes of LSU.

I'd take him in a New York second.
Come on home Nick. Mama's callin' !!

what are you using your basis as for calling him a quitter?? leaving lsu?? or miami?? or both??
i am not disagreeing with you on having him back, just curious as to why you think he is a quitter. i personally dont have a problem with him coming back, but at the same time dont get all amp'd thinking about him being here again.

Mostly for recruiting. It would take some good marketing, but you spin it to make LSU look (which I think it is) worth taking all the abuse he would take for coming back here and you could end up with gold.
If he comes back they better get some damn good PR people to handle the situation, hell of lot better than they did for when he went to Alabama.

I'd take him back just to show Bama fans we can. Then I'd fire his arse for the same reason....

This would really make the people running Alabama's program look like fools yet again.

That would be funny.

Saban really doesn't care what anyone thinks about him. That attitude right there gives us a shot. And yes, I would take him back. I'm not sure how Les's players would handle his style of coaching though.

I'm sure you're employees don't want you back either for selling them out.

THat is an excellent point

Honestly, I think he thinks any publicity is good publicity. It would certainly keep Saban's name in the national headlines. I am not joking about this either. I think he made those comments about 9/11 to keep his name in the national media. He couldnt do it on the field with his team, so he had to do it another way.

I think Les's players NEED his style of coaching.

If he comes back and agrees to a huge buyout indicating he plans to stay, LSU will no longer be perceived as a "stepping stone" job by coaches.

We would be a national laughing stock, especially after we lose to the best team in Alabama next year (Troy). The fact that the Bammers would be as big a laughing stock would be little consolation.....

something you hate to admit, but still agree with.

It is almost worth it for the gump meltdown alone.

Agreed ... they're pretty complacent right now!
