For all those applying to residency programs throughout the US, today is the day they find out were they will spend the next 1-7 years training to become a physician.

Good luck. I hope you wind up at your top spots.

It's not too late to switch careers, but, yeah, good luck. Match day is a great day.

I never understood why people go to medical school when they probably had a decent chance to get into law school, too.

As someone whose interested in several positions in the law profession that require law degrees, I feel I can honestly say I would probably never get a law degree because law school is generally a scam.

What if you don't like where you get matched to? It's not the military, can you tell them to suck a big one, I'm not living in BFE Iowa?

Nope. You fricked. BFE Iowa stacked!

Good luck to all today.

Go get drunk afterwards...or before. Whatever works.

It didn't used to be that way, and that's a shame. My father is a lawyer. He's had a good career, but he watched the profession change, and he didn't encourage any of us to follow in his footsteps.

How many can you rank? What's the likelihood of getting screwed and ending up with your very last option? I'd venture to guess it depends on what specific doctoring you're looking to do/hospital needs?

The exact same would/is said by most in medicine. Both my fiancé and I are doctors and I certainly will encourage our children to seek out another profession.

You can rank as many as you want. Where you end up depends on a lot of factors and involves the use of an unknown computer algorithm that combines all of those factors and picks the best result.
