I'd probably suggest visiting at least larger winery that has a great tour. After that visit some smaller producers that will spend more time with you and will be more willing to let you taste more of their bottlings.

Book n advance

This....also don't spend to much time in Napa, go to Sonoma and Russian River Valley area. Gary Farrell winery is awesome for Pinots. Truett Hurst is great, and Kunde is cool, that is where they filmed Bottle Shock.

We are going in June. Staying at Carneros Inn and are planning on Morimoto, French Laundry, Ad Hoc and Farm at Carneros Inn.

Last year we went, these are recs:

Redd Yountville
Bouchon Yountville
Model Bakery Napa (ridiculous English muffins)
Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch
Mustard's (not our favorite of the trip but still great)
R + D Yountville

Awesome pizza (and beer obviously)

Hitting that and Rare Barrel up on the way in from San Fran.

I would definitely take a tour at Schramsberg. The sparkling wine is a great change of pace (they do some really good reds as well). The amount of bottles they have layed down in the caves is amazing. You definitely need to book a reservation in advance.

The Mondavi tour was really good. Went to Domaine Carneros as well. Wine was great but the tour guide was a douche.

You can't beat the Del Dotto cave tour tasting. Hands down my favorite. Helps if you know someone there to give it to you

Not sure where we are going?

I'm along for the ride. Going with a group of 8.

It looks like I need to make sure someone in the group has a tour or two lined up.

Group of 8?

If you're all planning on tasting/touring together, you better make some phone calls in the morning or you're going to be SOL.

Shoot for weekdays, too.

Good luck, you'll have a blast.

There will be a handsome devil at the bar at Russian River on the evening of 4/5, possibly wearing some kind of LSU item. He'll buy you a beer if you ask him to read the menu to you because you're dyslexic.

They have a good blonde and a decent amber there.

I'll probably just stick to their lager. Do they make a pilsner? I bet it's fantastic.
