Dudley/Batum

Do Pels have any chance to make a run at both Jared Dudley and Nic Batum? Davis, Dudley, Batum, Pondexter, Jrue, could be a killer lineup. Crabbe from Portland is another guy this team should look at signing. Try stealing him from Portland.

Dudley: Yes
Batum: I'd love him but no unless other money is moved

Pondexter
I've played along for awhile now, but let me break character for a bit. Pondexter is like the 8th guy on a decent team. He should never be mentioned as a starter in any "killer" lineup.
Ok, time in.

He is a guy who fits in the lineup with the right guys. If you have Jrue and AD, you need guys like Pondexter. This team desperately needs 3 and d wings. He fits that mold.

We know that
If we did get a batum level SF I wouldn't hate him starting at SG at all.
He's dirt cheap and won't screw things up
Ideally he's a 25 min guy that backs up both wing spots and gives you versatility.

He is sefolosha to harden for okc previously. He's starting, but you knew he was there for 3&D while harden was your spark

You forgot to say coupon.

And the Harden spark could be Murray or whoever they draft.

idk who I want at SF long term: Aminu, Crabbe or Harkless. Hopefully we retain Crabbe though.

Dudley plz... Love that guy. He's the 3 and D type of player we need. He gives AD fits when we play Washington.

Think ya team plans on matching anything?

Would depend on the money. Crabbe is a great effort guy but he has skills. He's not a lazy skilled player or a no skill, all effort player. If somebody wants to give him 13+ a year, I think we pass on him and make a run at some of the Centers there.
Right now, this team is committed to Lillard and CJ. Everyone else is expendable. I think Vonleh is here to stay unless he nets us somebody like Horford.
All in all, he's a good 3 and D player. If teams overlook him early and chase Durant and Barnes, or chase the older guys like Deng, Green, Turner, I can see Portland working out a deal somewhere between 8-10M to flip him or Aminu the next season

Totally agree. People overvalue the frick out of QPon, and it seems to get worse the longer he is out.

Not that Dudley isn't a serviceable guy, but are we talking about the same 30 yr old that averages 8 & 3????

I get the Dudley appeal. He is a "beyond the stat sheet" guy, that won't break the bank. A lot of the good national NBA writers always have great things to say about Dudley, and his contributions to the teams he plays on.

Don't think he has been on a good team many times in his career...Reckon the national guys like him because he is so friendly with all of them and gives great interviews. Saw him play in person a couple nights ago he was the one guy out of all who got in the game that physically looked like he just didn't belong out there.

that's not ideal

I think people need to temper their expectations, short of us hitting the jackpot and landing the #1 or #2 pick and getting either Simmons or Ingram, we are not going to have a huge difference maker at the 3 spot next season.
Even if we drafted 504's man crush or Jaylen Brown, they aren't going to be ready to unseat Qpon.
Dudley is one of those unheralded "smart" signings a good team makes. He is a self declared analytics/Gentry ball convert, which means he will fit right in and lobby for others to buy in as well, a high character guy and a work horse. For 10-15 minutes a game and spot duty when injuries crop up, I think it would be a great signing. his lineup versatility is also a great asset for a team likely to battle injuries at multiple positions and wanting to switch and go small.

I would draft Brown due to his potential but I think he will be a bust. He has no real skill but being a strong athletic freak. Dudley won't sign here anyway. We would have to over pay, and his age he would want to go to a contender.
