The Fightin' Sandies! Great name and great helmet/uniform.

Stayed a couple times with a friend who has the poor fortune of living there because of work. The only things to do on the weekends (if you don't drink) are: the local rodeo, bowling, movie theatre, or shooting shite outside the city limits. It sucks. Plus the whole city smells like cow shite.

That mascot looks like my next morning beer shits.

Got my identity stolen in Amarillo. Place sucks man, it was snowing sideways when we stopped to get a bite while headed west and there were a couple of cowboys out front the restaurant in shorts. Blew my mind

if you like small town life with a few more amenities and snow, Amarillo's OK.
i had a few good times there and like slow lifestyle.
there are a lot worse big cities in TX. if i were going for midsized town with some life, i'd shoot for Abilene or San Angelo (Lubbock if you want college sloots)

Tell him to go try 575 pizzeria, some of the best pizza I've ever had. As far as the town goes yeah, not much going on.

Used to go to Borger for work

Funny. I recently met someone who is about to move to Starkville from Amarillo by choice. Starkville is evidently a more attractive location than Amarillo...let that sink in.

I spent a couple of months there for work a few years ago. It was pretty much of a dud as far as entertainment goes. The weather can go from one extreme to the other very quickly.

I lived in Borger for 2 years while going college. I was college rodeoing and was a great region for it. Amarillo is not near as bad as Borger but it's still pretty bad. Wind blows all the time and you can see for miles of nothing but mesquite trees. I'm thankful for my time there but was glad to be back in Louisiana.

You probably know my coworker, he's from Deridder but lives in Westlake. He's been in that area his whole life and is/was in the rodeo circuit.

I probably do know him.

Doesn't surprise me. Mississippi State, as a SEC school can provide a lot of entertainment from August-May (football, basketball, baseball). Also, I'm sure the college attracts some festivals and music entertainment.
Amarillo...you better be really involved in the town and enjoy the lifestyle.

Craft beer on tap there too.

I lived northwest of Amarillo for half a year. Has an OK downtown area. The problem is, there is nothing surrounding the area. So like cities like Albuquerque and what not, you don't get cool acts/people passing through. As a result, the city feels dated/uncool.

Been to Midland and Lubbock. If it's anything like those cities then the best part is Leaving.
