All this talk about the big three: Del Rio, Spurrier, Saban has gotten everyone excited- myself incuded-- But I have stepped back and offer the following.
1) more likely than not we get none of the above mentioned for whatever reason-- Rio- NFL season and Playoffs; Saban- PR nightmare if he bolts; Spuirrier-- perfectly content winning just enought to keep the cock fans happy and playing golf.
2) All that has been posted is nothing but crap-- all these "sources" everyone has is nothing but internet fodder that is feeding a frenzy. the fact is NO ONE knows what is going on behind the scenes, but I hardly think its all this cloak and dagger shite everyone is spewing about.
3) Ask yourself this-- If LSU's administration knew Les was gone- wouldnt they just let him go now and bring in the man behind the curtain that everyone "knows" we are getting. The reason this has not happened is that Miles doesnt even know what MIles is gonna do right now--beside coach the SECCG. Until then LSU fans are left with the dreams of the big three to fill the shoes-- but alas we will all be dissapointed when it is not one of them.
Finally, I think we get neither of the three rather we get another guy that is off the radar-- just like Miles was four years ago.

I don't think Nick leaving Bama would be a PR nightmare.
The media may embrace him for going with his heart. He has said leaving LSU was the biggest mistake of his career....so it would be refreshing to see him "going home".

The media would make a hero out of him for going back to LSU. What y'all don't understand is that they did that to him because he was going to BAMA They hate BAMA more than any program in the country.

the vast majority of Bama fans make it EASY to hate the Tide.

Probably the most thoughtful and lucid post I have ever read on the rant.

I think this is right on target.

Chris Peterson. I can't think of a reason not to hire him given his record at Boise State and what he did last year.

i agree with points 1 and 2, but point 3 i disagree
if they know les is leaving they haven't announced it yet, b/c they're waiting for the seccg. for continuity's sake, you can't come in and change coaches mid week and hope to win a game.
if it's been decided already, wait for a monday press conf to see

Last year was his first year

And this year was his second. Over 2 years he is 24-2. He won a BCS bowl and was the OC of some pretty good offenses under Hawkins. If we pass on him we will be sorry later when someone else picks him up.

Whoppedy-fricking-do. Charlie Weiss had a damn impressive record his first two years too.
Maybe we will be sorry if we pass him up, but we could also be sad if we hire him and he is a bust at running program.

I neither want nor expect one of the big three. I want a guy like Brian Kelly, maybe Chris Peterson.
