All of the guys who work for me listen to rap non-stop(rapping along to it) all day long. I never hear them listen to any other style of music. This seems fairly common in the black community. I actually kind of feel sorry for them that they do not seem to enjoy other styles of music. How common is this lack of musical diversity?

You missed the "are." Busy at work and coffee has not kicked in.

Some of the black guys I used to work with definitely listened to some rap, but also listened to a lot of, and had a deep appreciation for old school r&b. It was actually some of the white guys that exclusively listened to rap.

Listening to rap exclusively is like only eating hot pockets for the rest of your life.

Theres a young female that works here, answers phones, and all she listens to is rap. The thing I cant understand is she dresses like a hippie, always talks about organic foods, and wears t-shirts with peace symbols. Also always has flowers in her hair.

yeah, they are white and 35+ though.

I feel for them as all of our social activities generally involve non rap music. and at parties or camping, they never get to listen to their music. the women veto it.

When I saw the subject I assumed you would be talking about white friends. But you're talking about black employees. How do you know they don't always just play it when the boss man is around? Have you heard what they play in their homes after work when they're by themselves? Maybe that's just the only type of music they all agree on and so that's what gets played while they're together at work.
