I would think this indicates Pelini

Not necessarily. I don't read it as excluding anybody, but if they were sure about Pelini, they couldn't go without an interim coach until Saturday evening or Sunday? I think it makes it slightly likely that it's Pelini rather than Gill (because Gill is not in a championship game and NU is not going to wait until after the bowl games). However, rumor is that Osborn prefers Gill and is trying to build a consensus around him, so that could be the delay he's preparing for. However, if Osborne's out there recruiting, he's not looking for a coach.

I don't think anything needs to be read into it. He can make recruiting visits this week, he is obviously done interviewing, and would rather spend his time keeping in touch with the recruits he has.

Secondary thought -- is it possible he is using this power to travel to places that "on the fence" recruits are located and find out from them and their coaches what kind of hire would get them to NU? Just a thought...

My bet is Osbourne returns as coach of the huskers and hires gill as oc in order to groom him for the job later. If he plans to have a coach in place next week why do this?

Probably so but i am having a real hard time understanding this move. Pelini would in place on monday if you wanted him to so i don't see the need for osbourne doing this. Who knows these days.

Bobby Johnson.

Osborne's waiting for the Army - Navy (Bobby Johnson's team) game this weekend to be played before he meets with and interviews Bobby Johnson.

That is all (and, as somebody else mentioned, to try to indicate some semblance of order & bring peace of mind to recruits that might be wondering what's going on in Lincoln).

Coaches Vandy. You are thinking of Paul Johnson. Once again though you could have him on monday if you wanted him so why make this move?

ehhh, what a dumbfawk I am. Yeah, Paul Johnson.

I don't have an answer to your question, though. Maybe, simply, to calm down the lunatic fanbase that wants/wanted the new head coach hired one minute after it was announced Callahan was told to walk. ???
