Do you think NASA could put another man on the moon in a 7 year timeframe?

Just got done watching "The Right Stuff". Great movie. It got me thinking how big of a feat Apollo 11 was, to basically design a system to put a man on the moon with nothing more than a slide rule, a navigational calculator with the computing power of your graphing calculator, and paper.
For the unawares, JFK called for the US to put a man on the moon in 1962. Apollo 11 happened in 1969. Personally I doubt NASA could do it again within the same timeframe.
A good diagram that put things in perspective on just how difficult Apollo 11 was

We've done it. I think the next objective has to be Mars for the longevity of our species.

I think with the CGI we have today, anything is possible.

Aliens don't want us on the moon. They have a base on the dark side of the moon.

Money buys a lot of things, and that is all it would require lots and lots of money. Would not take 7 years either.

Our galaxy will collide with another in a million years or so, making the area of space the sun is in uninhabitable in the process.
So we'd better either invent faster-than-light travel, or else launch a generation ship to reseed mankind in an unaffected part of either galaxy.

No because Obama killed NASA

If we survive that long, we will have the ability to manipulate time and space.

Baby steps. We need the objective of Mars, to leap our species to its potential. We will never agree on athletic facilities but I think we can get on a similar plane of technology.

Thanks to movie credits, it would be filmed in Louisiana

As long as it's ready in time...(tRant joke)...I'm down with anything.

If given the proper funding we could do it within the year. No doubt about that.

Mars is the objective that stretches our ability.

This. Maybe more than a couple years as we'd have to build everything from scratch, but the technology has existed for decades. No one will fund a moon mission though.

Michoud would make the spacecraft blow up again.

Man has never left the earths orbit. Too much radiation. Why do you think the Russians and Chinese have never done it?
