Why is that LSU seems like the prom date that everyone wants because they can get laid and then nothing else? Why can't we get someone that would be committed to us long term?

saban was an NFL guy we fricking new that when we hired him.

Les was a UM guy we fricking knew that when we hired him.

I realize your name is stewart so you probably like to whine alot, but this isn't a big deal. the program is fine

in this era of CFB, there's no more such thing as 'long term.' everyone is either looking for the next best thing, or are not producing enough results to fit their contracts. also, with how money is being thrown around, it's impossible to expect coaches to just stay put when their could be greener pastures elsewhere.

if we get spurrier, it won't be for the long term due to his age

if we get del rio, i don't see him staying for that long...USC or the NFL could be calling his name after a few years of success.

saban? uhh...

tubby? has shown that he'll jump, given the perfect opportunity.

When did I ever say the program wasn't fine? I'm talking about from the coach's perspective...not LSU's.

Seriously, why does everyone act like we need a coach to stay for 20 years? I'd say a coach that stays 5-8 years is just about perfect. You can keep hiring guys at the top of their game.

Yeah, why would anyone want consistency?

This analogy is beyond horrible.

What's the longest contract we've ever guaranteed someone? Loyalty goes both ways.

Sometimes consistency turns into another "C" word.

Complacency. (See Penn State & Florida State)

Why is it so horrible? If Les is indeed gone then the last two guys we had just came to LSU for a good frick and then moved on to someone else for a relationship.

I completely understand that, but I just don't understand why LSU can't find a guy who really wants to be at LSU.

In the past 10 years only 2 national championship coaches have been at their school for longer than 6 years.

PSU, FSU, Tenn., Mich, Ark, just off the top of my head all have/had coaches at their school for 10 years or more. How consistant have they been?

JDR is a USC Alum and a West Coast guy. And he is the coach of a NFL team that is 8-4. Are you guys retarded or just stupid?

And just b/c some lame arse booster may have contacted him does not make it any more credible or likely.

Which is why he lined up for an interview(which his agent blew) while his team was IN THE PLAYOFFS?

Some people for some reason refuse to believe JDR has legitimate interest in the job.
