So, where would you be happy with regards to gas prices?

All the threads about the price of oil, and savings/spending, etc., got me to thinking. Where would be a happy medium on gasoline prices?
I would be good with gas between $2 and $2.25 as a norm. Not too high that is would be a great detriment to a lot of people, but high enough to keep oil companies flush with cash and happy truck buyers and oil field workers in BR and Houston.
Am I off by a lot OT crowd?

I wouldn't bitch if they went up to $2 or so for regular unleaded.
I also wouldn't be worried if they went down even further.

The problem is the oil companies were just like the oilfield workers. They threw money around like crazy when things were going well, and didn't plan accordingly for when things would get bad. Oil companies waste money like no other

Honestly, im happy with it now, I just hate that all my brothers and sisters in the oil industry and industries tied to O&G are hurting.

I want oil companies to pay me to use their gas. That's the happy medium price.

This is certainly part of the problem. When oil companies can cut 10-15K jobs and still operate, that shows how much glut there was to begin with.
Best case scenario is that prices creep back up to around $40/barrel by the end of the year, and slowly make its way to $70/barrel. I think that is a happy medium.
