A good friend of mine was in this wave of 5000 and yes he does drive a big truck but it's not a f250. Sucks for his family.

Why should I feel bad for them, no one felt bad for me when gas was $3/gallon and I had a 130 mile daily commute! This is what they get for having jobs in such an incredibly volatile industry, just look at the 1980s, no one should work in O&G or they deserve this.

Some hateful comments in this thread. From people being happy others are losing their to people wishing cancer upon others. Sad day on Tigerdroppings.

I've noticed home prices going down and inventory creeping up in Houston.

I'll never understand the "energy crisis". Politicians preach about energy independence yet still buy foreign oil. It is so simple. The only reason there is a glut is because we're still buying foreign oil.
Maybe I'm an idiot, but I just don't get it.

My company just laid off another 6,000. Most of those lay offs were US based employees.

I was talking with colleague yesterday about the current state of the industry. He was telling me about a friend of his who is an engineer with 20+ years of experience who was recently laid off in the US. He's working as a bartender now to try and make ends meet.
