I already know from my divorce, but now my ex is continually trying to get more money, and I feel if I don't fight it, it will never stop.

One attorney I contacted told me that it's better to get an attorney from the area because they know the judges and how they typically rule. Also stated that most judges might be more likely to rule in favor of an attorney they know.

If all you are fighting about is child support, it is a futile fight. LA family law uses a calculator to determine child support.
My rec is if you are splitting 50/50, fight to be considered the domiciliary parent. It pays off when the kids are school aged.
My lawyer also advised that child custody issues generally costs $5000+ in total and rarely end in one parent being awarded sole custody.

The calculations aren't right, and her attorney said the only way they will change is if it goes to court. I'm not comfortable representing myself. Her attorney is an A-hole and trying to strong arm me because he knows I don't have a lot of money.

Unless your income has changed since the calcs were done, it is probably an exercise in futility. The exception may be if your income was reported incorrectly.
Hope ypu get it resolved quickly without impacting the kids.
Good luck.

Have to watch Divorce Corp. documentary to prepare yourself. It's a must for everyone really.

Mine went up, hers went down, her attorney calculated my income including overtime, and hers at the reduced amount. I don't think that's fair, but I'm not a lawyer

Do you continuously work overtime?
