When did tatoos become the "IN" thing?

About what year? What was the turning point?
I love that it has become such a huge fad. It's like watching countless people grow permanent afros and put on non-removable pairs of skin tight bell bottom white pants and sequin shirts. They'll look really stylish in 50 years.

I don't have tattoos, but I am in the generation that has a love affair with them. With that said, they'll be pushing 80 years old in 50 years. You really think they'll care about how they look then? I'd hate for that wrinkly ole skin to be ruined.

Then again about 10 years ago.

Your grandfather got two arm sleeves and a picture of a blonde haired bottle-nosed dolphin wearing a kippa across his chest?

I think I remember tribal arm tattoos was the first time I saw people outwardly display them, were those people cool back then?

Do you?
Have a job?
Or even a bank account?

It was an anchor originally. By the time I saw it was a green blob. He said he regretted and he got it because it was pretty much the cool thing to do in the Pacific in the 1940s.

Whoever tattooed "boner garage" above your mom's vagina did a good job

This is always my thought when people say your tattoos are going to look like shite in 50 years. I imagine all of me will look like shite in 50 years. Who cares?

The tattoo craze started before millenials were old enough to drive.
