The boosters made some back channel communication the week after the UM-Appy State game. He said that he would be interested if officially approached. That's all they needed to hear.

You haven't seen anything official because as of right now, LSU has a head coach.

a friend of mind is married to a member of the Zatarain family and he tells me they say spurrier is the top choice followed by tubbs among the big time boosters.

It makes sense that Spurrier would be interested in the LSU job. He will never be able to recruit the amount of 5-4 star recruits there that he can every year at LSU. I for one would like to see him in purple and gold if Les leaves for Michigan.
Give him the resources and support LSU has, I think the ole ball coach would be able to bring his magic back and get us another one or two NC's.

That's EXACTLY the way it was told to me. Glad to hear it form someone else too. Actually my uncle is one of the big boosters that told me this info back in Sept. Once Appy State won that game they all knew this was it for Carr and that Miles would be their main target.

They weren't sure if SS would be interested so they sent word through a close friend of Spurrier's with LSU ties and Spurrier said he would definitely take an interview. They also like Tubby's abilities but are concerned with the baggage that comes with him (dirty play, cheating, etc.)

it is amazing how quickly the LSU fanbase can accept someone that was once a hated rival

Donald Ray Kinard, is a big time booster, (and the spotter for hawthorne) if that means anything, he is a long time friend of SS, and he has been telling people this. He is the one who tried to bring him here years ago, and has been pushing it ever since

very true. 3 yrs ago I was very much against the notion. i think the whole Saban thing coupled with the fact that SS has been coaching a team I have no feelings about either way and has been no threat to us has mellowed me out. I think the press value alone makes him a good hire!

I actually think some douche bag who is a firefighter and grasscutter on Tigerbait started all the rumors. Everyone seeems to believe him for some reason.

I don't know.Finebaum said it wasn't an option for SS last year because he thought he really had turned things around in SC and all of his family had moved there, but Finebaum said all that has changed now and SS wants to win and get his reputation restored. Spurrier probably jerks off to our media guide.

I'm for it just for the press conferences being a hell of a lot more entertaining then the nonsensical jibberish we get now.

The team actaully being ready to play on Saturday would also be a bonus.
