So I upgraded my home theater system and my new Sony receiver only has RCA preouts for a subwoofer. Can anyone recommend a good, low budget, powered subwoofer? Don't care to have top of the line, just want something to add some decent low end for music and movies.

Guess I should have clarified my definition of low budget

looking to stay around $200 max. If that's unreasonable then maybe not, but I am by no means an Audiophile Looking more for a "best bang for your buck"

What's the budget

Below 150? Can't beat the Dayton SUB-1200

Around 200..BIC F12 or V1220.
klipsch sw 12 hg or SW-112 on sale (just missed this for $180 at newegg) slickdeal link

Budget?

I have the Proficient Audio PS12 and can't recommend it enough. Not sure how Proficient compares to others but it's definintely the best sub I've had in any of my previous setups.

Here is a definitive list of budget subs. LINK

I suggest saving a couple hundred more and getting something better than a budget sub. You really don't know what you're missing until you get a decent sub for home theater.

I post there often and when I was in the market for a budget sub, I was steered to the Klipsch Sub-12 HG. Not many budget subs with that power and hit in the lower frequency range. I have one in my HT and am always looking to add a second. They were just <$200 at Fry's.

BIC F12 $215

HSU STF-1 for a little more $309 and will be more accurate but won't be as loud

Bic Acoustech PL-200 watch for this on sale. It's fairly high at the moment.

If you have to stay around 200, get the BIC F12 and don't look back.

This one isn't bad for the money, but I'd save my money and get something better.

I have a Klipsch in my garage. I think I paid around $300, and it was worth every penny.

I had a bass matrix in my previous home and it was awesome, pretty big and bulky. Just finished building a new home, had a sun fire sub installed. It is awesome and significantly smaller. Neither are cheap, but both are excellent.

Meh, I would only look at Klipsch RW-12D. It was 1000 to start and went on sale for 329 and that was a good sub. They don't make those anymore. One that msrp's that low from them, I wouldn't go for. The polk is lower peak and low RMS compared to the BIC F12 and others.

If I were buying a subwoofer for around $200, I'd go with the BIC America F12, but that Klipsch is also a good option. Shouldn't be buying based on MSRP anyways.

I agree on a normal basis. However, within a company, it kind of works.
