Either do it yourself, or bring it to a real CPA.

Made the mistake last year since I owed a crap ton after doing Turbo Tax and hoped I was messing up. It was around $400. Good thing is they saved me $600 from what I got on TT, so I guess it was worth it. Still had to pay several thousand

Afterwards, realized you can get an actual CPA to do it for roughly the same amount.

Unless you have some really complex stuff outside of dependents, W-2s, 1099s and Mortgage Interest, there is no need to do anything other than one of the websites. If you have a little intelligence you can figure out the complex stuff.

I use Taxact. Never had a problem. H&R Block didn't just bring down Ken Jennings, they are a money pit.

You could probably call H&R Block and get a better answer

What's the going rate for CPA's... say if one has a side business and files quarterly?

Too much for too little service.

Turbo Tax or an accountant if you have own a business, farm, bought and sold a lot of stock throughout the year, had some legal troubles, etc.

What documents are you filing for 2015 besides a W-2?

You do realize H&R Block will hire just about anybody during tax season right? That means Laquita who dropped out of high school & flunked math could be doing your taxes. You know how? By using the H&R Block tax software. Why would you pay them to do that when you can easily do it yourself?
Taxes are pretty fricking easy to do unless you have some extremely complicated tax situation and in that case you should be using a CPA anyway.

I like Taxact better than Turbotax, but they're both good. Should take you like 30 mins and cost about $15(Taxact)

Go to a real CPA if you make bank. A good CPA can potentially save you thousands.

I had a real CPA do my taxes for the first time this year and it cost me $300 but he got me a solid five figures on the return so it was worth it.

If you don't have a ton of complicated deductions and business expenses, just turbo tax that shite.

Buy H&R Block tax software and do it yourself. By February it's on sale for twenty bucks and that includes e-filing of up to five federal returns. E-file of your state return is twenty bucks extra or you can just print it out and mail it.
I knocked mine out in about three hours last weekend.

depends.

Anywhere from 30 bucks to way more.

If you are asking, probably 30 bucks.

Do it online, in store will be 150 at least

This is what the GF uses. Apparently it's free for her.
