I've always believed it was simply a lack of bodies up front, in numbers and physical size

He was 310 at the NFL combine, and was listed at 332 as a Freshman at LSU and had the biggest gut on the team. That is a huge difference.
Hunter was always physically imposing. Moffit didn't do shite, it was his genes.
Now on to Turner. He lost 20lbs before the draft. He did it after leaving LSU and Moffit behind.
You have a point, but you just used the two worst examples.

Hunter was very thin coming in, and he was more of an example of how bad our coaching has been.
Turner was 316 in is 3rd year at LSU. So had he lost 20lbs after the season, he surely wouldnt have weight 310 at the combine. He came in at "332". Was closer to 340. Moffit transformed his body for sure
Anway, You're wrong on both accounts. I dont understand people questioning someone that posts facts as i did.

I chalked it up to Chavis wanting speed over strength so the recruiting and training reflected that

Since you mentioned technology, LSU was at the forefront of using gps monitoring of its athletes during practice which provides all kinds of telemetry. I'm sure you were aware of this though.

I think these other teams are juicing, look at those bama linemen, hell at UF the QBs are juicing. Is there a test for HGH yet?

I think the coaching staff advises Moffitt of what they want from each player and/or position group and Moffitt follows orders.
Our players are fast and agile and athletic....
But previous posters are correct - our lines have been pushed around by 2-3 teams each year (recently).
Our DLine isn't as talented as it once was.
And we're still putting a ton of kids in the NFL, with very few skins on the wall.

Getting "beat physically" all starts with your confidence or lack of confidence. The team knew the game plan against bama was crap and wasn't going to work. Your could see their blank stares on the sidelines by the 3rd offensive series just like the 2011 NC game. The coaches should donate 1/12 of their salaries back to the university for doing absolutely No game planning for 2 weeks prior to the bama game.

What are your thoughts on Moffitization
It, along with Travonte Valentine, are merely myths

Especially our big O-Linemen, they don't look "cut" like other SEC teams' 0-Linemen. Some of our guys biceps actually look flabby. Everyone says actual strength is more important that aesthetics, but seems like there's a stronger correlation between look and leverage.

LSU's S&C program is fine. They are getting beat on the lines because they are getting out recruited on the lines. Period.

The guy before Moffitt was canned by Saban because the team consistently lost games in the forth quarter.
That happens on the regular now.
To me the measure of a great strength and conditioning coach is how many games are won late in the forth quarter. That doesn't happen as often now.

Everything I'm reading on the internet, except here, has nothing but great things to say about Moffitt. He's considered one of the best in the business.
Sports are more than fitness. It's about technique and development WITHIN THE GAME, NOT THE GYM.
Our failures have been recruiting and development, not strength and conditioning.
How many star athletes enter ANY sport and fade out within a few years? It happens so much. It's not because they aren't strong or fast enough, but because they don't understand how to maximize their potential within the game.
ETA: I saw an interview with Moffitt and he said having a LB squat 5,000 pounds isn't going to make him a better football player. He said, if anything, it would only increase the risk of injury.
He also talked about things that are important in sports: spinal strength, hip mobility, explosive movements with the most power. This dude KNOWS what he is talking about.

My thoughts on moffitization is that Saban hired him for a reason!
Posted on 2/12/16 at 12:14 pm to TigerTreyjpg
Really hope Arden Keys dad is training him this off season again.

I don't think anybody is saying moffit wasn't great for a few years but you can be the best at something then be passed by other people happens in every day life all the time
